TutorialHow can I connect a domain?

If you already own a domain and would like to publish your website created in Solomoto on this domain, you need to connect your domain to the Solomoto platform.

Connecting a domain is very easy and you can follow the steps below:

Click on your Business profile widget on the dashboard, and under the section Own domains, click on the link: Connect a domain you own.

You will be navigated to a page where you can insert the domain you wish to connect. Insert your domain without the prefix “www”.

Once you inserted the domain, go to your admin panel in the registrar that manages your domain, and follow the steps:

• Create “A” DNS record pointing at ip 137.117.229.134.
• Create “CNAME” DNS record which uses www as subdomain and @ as canonical name.

After you connect your domain to the platform, you’ll be redirected to Business Profile and you’ll see your domain in the list of own domains under the status “Connected”.

Note that the date of domain registration in this case will correspond to the date you connected the domain to the platform.

As your domain wasn’t purchased in Solomoto we are unaware of the expiration date of your domain – Please don’t forget to extend your domain licence, and track its expiration date on the registrar admin panel.

Once you have connected the domain, it can take between 1-2 hours and no more than 24 hours, to see your website live on the connected domain.
