TutorialHow can I purchase a domain?

 To purchase a domain, click on the “Purchase Domain” button when publishing your website. You will be taken to a Purchase Domain page, where you can create a domain for your website as well as a domain zone (e.g. .com).

 Usually when creating a domain, you would want your business name to be the domain name. When you are done, click the “Check” button to check the availability of the domain chosen. If the domain is Not Available, this means that you cannot buy this domain since someone else already owns it and you need to try a different name.

If the domain is Available, you can proceed by filling out the rest of the form to register the domain. Domains cost $10.00.

The information filled in the form is registered by the domain registrar and will grant you ownership of the domain. It is highly recommended to fill in only valid information when registering your domain. If in doubt about any of the field in the forms, you can find further explanations on the question mark sign next to the field.

Due to technical requirements of DNS zones setting, your domain will be available for publication after the status of your domain has passed from Configuring to Working. Usually this takes between 1 or 2 hours, and in any case it should not take longer than 24 hours.

You can purchase a domain also visiting the Manage Business Profile widget, and clicking in the Buy domain link, in the Own Domains section.

 

 

What does the status of my domain mean?

Once you have purchased a domain, you will be able to view the current domain status in the business profile widget. The current status of your domain may be:

Configuring
Once a domain is purchased, the registrar proceeds to configure it. In this stage, until the configuration has been completed by the registrar, the domain is still not available for publishing.

You may have to wait between 1-2 hours up to 24 hours to be able to publish a website under this domain.

Working
The domain has been configured and it is working. You can use the domain purchased to publish your website if you did not do it yet.

Error
If the status Error is displayed, it may mean that some unexpected error has happened during the domain purchase process.

Our support team will help you spot the issue and solve the problem as soon as possible.

Expired
If the status Expired is displayed, this means that a year has passed since you have purchased your 1 year long domain licence.

Click on the “Prolongate” button to purchase a an additional year long licence and reactivate your website.

When your domain licence is about to expire again, Solomoto will send you an email notification to remind you about extending your domain licence.

Keep your contact email updated to avoid missing important email alerts from Solomoto.

How can I request the full administration permissions over a domain you purchased?

Domain purchased through Solomoto, are registered through the domain registrar GoDaddy. Domains purchased are registered at your name, and you are the only owner of the domain.

When you buy a domain in Solomoto we transact domain purchase with the help of domain registrar GoDaddy. But you are anyway stated as the owner of the domain regardless that domain is managed by Solomoto.

If for some reason you want to get your domain in your full administration you need to send us a request at support@solomoto.com. We will then manage the process and guide you through necessary steps.

Note that transferring domain to your personal administration is possible only after 2 months have passed since domain has been purchased.
